Manuscript Workshop
The Humanities Center announces the continuation of its Manuscript Workshop program. The program enables full-time, tenure-track or tenured members of the 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳ faculty in the School of Arts & Sciences who are close to completing a book-length manuscript to benefit from an on-campus discussion of the project by three senior, external scholars in their field.
The Humanities Center will contribute up to $3,750 for honoraria and travel expenses for visiting scholars. All additional required funding must be contributed by the faculty member's home department. 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳ faculty members who agree to read the manuscript may also participate in the workshop, which is anticipated to run approximately three hours.
In its initial phase, the Manuscript Workshop program will fund one workshop per semester. Preference will be given to untenured faculty members who are not Humanities Center fellows at the time of the workshop.
2024-2025 manuscript workshops will be hosted by Joella Bitter (Asst. Prof. of Anthropology, ESM), and Josh Dubler (Assoc. Prof., Religion & Classics).
To apply, please complete the application and send it, along with a c.v., to humanities@rochester.edu. The deadline is January 15, 2025. The Humanities Center Executive Committee will select the awardees.
