Central New York Humanities Corridor
The 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳ is one of three major partners in the Central New York Humanities Corridor, together with Syracuse University and Cornell University. Funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation beginning in 2006, the Humanities Corridor promotes interdisciplinary collaboration among faculty and graduate students from all three campuses, as well as six liberal arts colleges in Central New York, by sponsoring working groups, conferences, and other events in several areas of humanistic inquiry. Additional grants from Mellon, including the award, in 2014, of funds for permanent endowments at each of the three founding institutions, have allowed the corridor to expand its mission. New fields of investigation such as digital humanities have been added to the range of research projects the corridor supports. The Humanities Corridor makes the shared resources of the Central New York region available to thousands of scholars each year.
The director of the Central New York Humanities Corridor at the 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳ is the Ani & Mark Gabrellian Director of the Humanities Center, Peter H. Christensen. Administrative support for working group events taking place on the 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳ campus is provided by the working group organizer's home department, not the Corridor or the Humanities Center.
