If you'd like to learn more about our versatile degree options, visit our undergraduate program page for an overview. We offer a BS which acts as a stand-alone degree while our BA requires a second major to complement your business courses for students with another academic area of interest.

Information for First-Year Students

  • Students who received AP or IB credit for ECON 108 must take one additional 200-level ECON course.
  • Transfer credit for ECON 108 requires a course (or courses) that cover(s) both principles of microeconomics and macroeconomics.
  • AP or IB credit for STAT 212 can fulfill the statistics core course requirement for certain tracks—check with a business program advisor to verify.
  • Refer to the for details on Advanced Placement (AP) scores, credit equivalency, and placement.
  • Courses taken while a student was in high school which were sponsored by a college but were taught in the high school are not approved for transfer credit.
  • A maximum of three transfer courses can be used to fulfill business major course requirements.
  • Prerequisites to declaring the business majors BS and BA require students to complete one of the following calculus sequences or its equivalent (such as AP credit):
    • MATH 141, 142, and 143
    • MATH 161–162
    • MATH 171–172
  • Once the prerequisites have been met, students can declare for the business major. Please schedule a meeting with a business program advisor once you’re ready to declare. Students can enroll in business major/minor courses prior to declaring the major—just be sure that you have completed the prerequisites for that specific course.

Information for Transfer Students

  • Transfer students are encouraged to meet with a business program advisor prior to registering for classes in their first semester at the 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳.
  • For transfer students entering with sophomore status, a maximum of three transfer courses can be used to fulfill business major course requirements.
  • For transfer students entering with junior status, a maximum of five transfer courses can be used to fulfill business major course requirements.
  • Transfer courses cannot be used to fulfill cluster requirements.
  • Transfer courses that you would like to fulfill major or minor course requirements will need to be reviewed and approved by the appropriate department—refer to the . Once approved, a will need to be completed, signed, and emailed to CCAS Records for submission.
