Student Profiles

Rosemary Aviste and Maxwell Sheldon

Class of 2020

We are both sophomores pursuing a minor in environmental humanities at 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳. In addition, we’re passionate about urban agriculture and work jointly on campus and in the greater 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳ community to create, grow, and enhance community garden initiatives. We believe that working closely with our local partners helps build a stronger bridge between the University and the community.

We are also the 2017–18 coordinators for EcoReps, a group of 30 dedicated first-year students who promote sustainability in their residence halls and throughout campus. EcoReps have unique access to first-year students through their residential life positions, so they’re able to champion the importance of sustainability at 91×ÔÅÄÂÛ̳. Furthermore, they take part in a two-credit course, which gives them a platform to spearhead sustainability projects on campus and provides them with the tools to become change-makers in sustainability for the University and the surrounding community.
